Teacher Professional Development
Teacher Professional Development is provided to educators who participate in our Summer Literacy Academy. HLR partners with Assets School and Kanu o ka Aina New Century Public Charter School to offer multisensory language instruction training. In Summer 2016, a three week training will provided for local educators. The goal of the training is to help teachers better teach all students in their classroom, especially diverse learners.

Community Education Program
Community Education Workshops bring education professionals to North Hawaii to provide information, resources, and support to families and educators of diverse learners. Workshops aim to provide participants with a better understanding of a student’s learning challenges and strategies to assist their learning at home and in school. The free Community Education Workshops are held monthly from September through April, except in December. Referrals for Student Assessments
Hawaii Learning Resource provides referrals to All Kinds of Minds trained professionals who use a strengths-based approach to assess and guide struggling students. The assessment identifies students’ strengths and interests and specific breakdowns in learning. A detailed report and demystification meeting provides students and their families with recommended strategies to strengthen the student’s strengths and reduce their learning challenges.
