Welcome to Hawaii Learning Resource

Hawaii Learning Resource, the flagship program of North Hawaii Women and Children’s Services, focuses on increasing local student success through early identification and effective interventions for struggling and gifted students through:

  • Strengths-based individual Student Assessments with learning profiles, learning plans, and classroom follow-up.
  •  Teacher Professional Development Programs to help educators acquire knowledge and skills to support all kinds of learners, especially diverse learners.
  • The Parent Education Program aimed at providing families of struggling and gifted students with knowledge and a better understanding of variations in learning, and strategies to more effectively address those variations to assist their child’s learning at home and at school.
  •  Student Academic Enrichment Programs which support struggling and gifted students by offering enrichment opportunities in art, music, and physical education during the school year, and a two week summer academic enrichment program in partnership with Assets School for students in grades 2 to 5, with a focus on developing stronger motivation to learn, learning and social skills, and strategies to make learning easier and more fun.

A non-profit since 1998, North Hawaii Women and Children’s Services is committed to its vision that North Hawaii families and children have the learning skills which empower them to make positive life decisions.
